Hood Facing

Meggie has a beautiful story behind these interlocked hearts. 2 hearts, Meagheen's and Michaela.
Samuel is mine, linked together.

Our serendipitous story. A couple continents, broken plans and finally finding eachother with out addresses and phone numbers. His name is engraved on my heart.

Why a Jewish girl needs an Irish Heirloom Cape

There are so many legends of Israel and Ireland that are linked together. Our stories often are very similar, fight for our land, fight for the right to exist and to keep our language and culture for our children.

Out of dead languages, hard ground, and battered hearts so much life springs forth. Like Celtic knots where you can hardly see a beginning, generations come forth out of what seems like nothing. Trees of Life send down deep roots and reach for the sky. When the world thought we should conform and loose ourselves, the brave few fought for the many. We are still here.

I married a Jewish boy with Irish grandparents. His family tree filled with mail order brides, farm houses, and boiled potatoes of perfection, is now entwined with mine, creating new branches for our children.

Using wool to sculpt hearts and braids, we create the pages of the book. Tears shed, recipes made, friendships formed. This is why I find myself in a YEAR LONG knit-a-long. L’Chaim!
